Home inspection, what to expect.

We inspect all the major systems of the house. These include the Roof, Exterior, Structure, Electrical, Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Insulation, and Interior. We find, identify, and report any major problems that would affect a typical buyer's decision to purchase. Most inspections take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours on average depending on the size, age, and condition of the home. Our report turn around times are quick without compromising report quality. Our digital and PDF reports have a typical turn around time within 24 to 48 hours in most cases.

Septic & Sewer Inspections

Septic tanks are basically underground containers made of fiberglass, concrete, or some sort of plastic material. These tanks house bacteria and chemicals that break down solid waste into sludge while liquid effluent is discharged into a drain field. Over time, the septic tank fills to level which requires it to be emptied. We work with several local septic companies to schedule septic inspections to determine the condition and pump it out at a convenient time for all involved.

3

Radon Testing

Radon is an odorless, invisible, radioactive gas naturally released from rocks, soil, and water. Radon is a highly dangerous gas that can cause lung cancer if your home is over acceptable levels. At Hensley Home Inspections we are certified and use continuous radon monitoring equipment to test the levels in your home. If levels are above acceptable amounts, a radon mitigation system is installed to reduce levels down to proper levels.

Pest Inspections

We work with several local pest companies that are licensed to do pest inspections in NC for the home you are purchasing or selling. They look for any signs of wood destroying insects that can cause structure damage to the home or invasive insects that can cause unsanitary situations in and around the home. We schedule these usually on the same day of the home inspection.
